Real-world evidence on migraine treatment in routine clinical practice: insights from the Türkiye migraine registry study using artificial intelligence algorithms.

Migraine remains a significant challenge, despite available treatments. Researchers used artificial intelligence to analyze data from the Türkiye Migraine Registry Study. This study included 11,023 adults treated for migraines at 23 hospitals. The analysis focused on understanding the burden of migraines, their diagnosis, and treatment options. Among neurology patients, 18.5% had migraine or suspected migraine. However, only 46.9% had a proper migraine diagnosis code. Many patients received medications specifically for migraines, even without a clear diagnosis. The study found that the majority of participants were women, with an average age of 41.5 years. Insights from this research highlight gaps in proper migraine diagnosis and treatment. The findings suggest that better coding and awareness could improve patient care. Addressing these issues may enhance how migraines are managed in clinical settings, leading to better outcomes for patients.
