Impact of migraine on quality of life and disability: a matched cross-sectional comparative study in a tertiary hospital in Malaysia.

Migraine significantly impacts the quality of life for many individuals. This study compared 100 migraine patients to 100 healthy controls. All participants completed questionnaires assessing their quality of life and migraine disability. The results showed that migraine patients had lower quality of life scores. Specifically, their overall WHOQOL-BREF scores were significantly lower than those of healthy controls. Physical health scores were also notably lower in migraine patients. Psychological health was affected as well, with migraine sufferers reporting worse scores than the controls. These findings highlight the substantial burden that migraines impose on individuals. They affect both physical and mental well-being. Understanding this impact can help healthcare providers support patients better. The study emphasizes the need for effective migraine management to improve patients' overall quality of life.
